NEW BRITAIN – (April 2) – The
International Relations Club and
the Center for International
Education at Central Connecticut
State University have organized
this year’s International
Festival. The annual event
brings together different
cultures and celebrates cultural
diversity from different parts
of the world through music,
dance, food, art, and artifacts.
“Global Voyage,” the theme of
this year’s International
Festival, will be held on
Sunday, April 19 from 12:00 to
4:00PM at the Student Center in
Alumni Hall. Booths
representative of students’
native countries will offer
traditional foods and celebrate
the respective countries.
Performers will provide
traditional music and events
throughout the festival. Thus
far, performers from South
Korea, China, Brazil, Poland,
Africa-Liberia, Germany, Italy,
India, Middle East and Japan
will present various traditions
of their countries and cultures.
The festival is a comprehensive
example of CCSU’s ongoing
efforts to contribute to the
cultural development of
Connecticut and the increasing
efforts and successes in being
global in its perspective and
outreach.
CCSU is home to over 300
international students, visiting
exchange scholars and
international faculty. The
international student population
at CCSU is a representation of
over 50 countries. Continents
represented include: Africa,
Asia, Europe, North and South
America.
The event is free and open to
the public, with free parking
available on adjacent surface
lots and garages.
