“Global Voyage” is Theme of CCSU’s 22nd International Festival
Celebrating CCSU’s Commitment to International and Community Engagement, and Cultural Diversity

NEW BRITAIN – (April 2) – The International Relations Club and the Center for International Education at Central Connecticut State University have organized this year’s International Festival. The annual event brings together different cultures and celebrates cultural diversity from different parts of the world through music, dance, food, art, and artifacts.

“Global Voyage,” the theme of this year’s International Festival, will be held on Sunday, April 19 from 12:00 to 4:00PM at the Student Center in Alumni Hall. Booths representative of students’ native countries will offer traditional foods and celebrate the respective countries. Performers will provide traditional music and events throughout the festival. Thus far, performers from South Korea, China, Brazil, Poland, Africa-Liberia, Germany, Italy, India, Middle East and Japan will present various traditions of their countries and cultures.

The festival is a comprehensive example of CCSU’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the cultural development of Connecticut and the increasing efforts and successes in being global in its perspective and outreach.

CCSU is home to over 300 international students, visiting exchange scholars and international faculty. The international student population at CCSU is a representation of over 50 countries. Continents represented include: Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America.

The event is free and open to the public, with free parking available on adjacent surface lots and garages.
