The Human Studies Council (HSC) consists of at least five members appointed by the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Graduate Studies. The Council meets as necessary and reports to the Associate Vice President.
It is the policy of CCSU that research involving human subjects is an important and necessary activity of the University and must be conducted in an ethical manner. The HSC has developed a set of procedures for implementing this policy in accordance with the regulations of the US Department of Health and Human Services, and is responsible for reviewing all such research, whether conducted by faculty, staff or students. Both the HSC Approval Form and the HSC Policy and Procedures Statement are available from the Office of Sponsored Programs, 201 Davidson Hall.
