Duplicating Services

1. All instruction materials will be forwarded to the Copy Center for duplication. There is no charge for the reproduction of tests, course syllabi, course schedules, teacher evaluations, and student evaluations.

There is a charge, however, for all other reproduction services. Departments have been provided with allocations for this service and should keep a record of expenditures. If allotments have been exhausted, reproduction materials cannot be completed.

All classroom, departmental educational and administrative materials as well as dissertations, papers, and manuscripts are considered University business.

University related reproduction services ONLY will be charged to departmental allocations. Dissertations, papers, and manuscripts will be charged to departmental allocations.

2. Duplication of professional materials shall be done on convenience machines located in campus buildings.

3. The duplication of materials for professional use shall be in accordance with current copyright laws and prudent use of available facilities. This would suggest a single copy of most professional materials and a maximum of 5 copies for professional or departmental correspondence.

4. For those machines purchased with and/or supported by state funds, all requests for duplicating services should be funneled through department chairpersons, who will assign the material to a convenience machine or to the Copy Center. The reproducing shall be done by departmental secretaries at specified times of day only. Normally all material will be returned to the faculty member not later than the following working day.

5. For any other machines which have been made available to the faculty, guidelines may be established by the owner(s).

6. Realizing that the provision of duplicating facilities for professional materials, although mandated by the current CSU-AAUP contract, must be within the budgeted resources of the University it is presumed that faculty members will make fair and prudent use of the facilities provided.
