DAVE WALSH
PRESIDENT

Dave has served as President of the CSU-AAUP since September 2002, and he has been a Political Science Professor at Southern since 1972. He has been active in Connecticut politics at the local and state levels for over 20 years.

Dave has defended the interests of all the members, during the periods of budget rescissions and political crises. He has represented CSU-AAUP effectively in the General Assembly, in negotiations with the Rowland and Rell administrations, and in interactions with the CSU Board of Trustees and Administration. Our position within SEBAC has also been enhanced, and the union has benefited greatly from assuming a proactive stance toward budget and state employee issues.

He remains committed to building a professional, efficient and tough union which can protect the salary, benefits and working conditions of its members. Within AAUP, Dave has been active in campus and state-level committees, including membership in the CSU-AAUP Political Committee since 1986 and serving as its chairperson from 1988 - 2002. Prior to assuming the Presidency, he was CSU-AAUP Vice President from 1995—2002.
