Declaring Your
major |
In order to earn a degree a student must choose a major
and complete the courses required in the program. The
best time to declare a major depends on the student.
Some students come to Central Connecticut with
well-defined educational plans and begin taking courses
in their major right away. Many students, however, are
uncertain of what major to choose and need time to
formulate their academic goals. Fortunately, Central’s
general education program allows a student to work
toward graduation requirements while exploring various
academic disciplines.
Declaring a major may be
as simple as writing in your choice on your admissions
application or filling out a form. Some majors,
however, have formal application procedures and specific
requirements which must be met before a student can be
admitted to a program.
