Degree: Business Management, Finance

Curtis is currently serving in the second year of his three-year term as the President of the Alumni Association. He enjoys working as a Vice President at First Investors Corporation. Curtis and his family are residents of Ellington, CT. His favorite parts of CCSU include the School of Business, and Blue Devils Athletics.

L. Edward Vescovi, First Vice President

Degree: Marketing

Ed Vescovi, now living in Branford, serves as second in command to the Alumni Board, and first in command as President of Fidelity Mortgage Services. As a student, Ed was involved in campus life as a Resident Assistant. He is the President of his local Rotary Club, and stays active volunteering for road races and for kids triathlons. Ed's favorite thing about CCSU is how it "gets student prepared for the real world."

Paula F. Chapla, Second Vice President

Degree: B.S. Industrial Arts, Graphics

Now living in Seymour, CT, Paula works at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. She became a member of the Nu Delta Chi Sorority and worked as a Student Manager at The Pub while attending CCSU. She is still active in the community as Director for the Housatonic Community College Foundation and the President of the Seymour Library Friends. Her favorite thing about CCSU is the support and sense of family that has sustained over the years.

Kelley A. Hedley, Treasurer

Degree: B.S. Management Information Systems

Kelley is currently living in South Windsor, CT. She is putting her degree to good use as Information Systems Director at Travelers. Kelley exemplified the hard working CCSU student by putting herself through school while working fulltime, and still found time to mentor children in Hartford. She stays involved in the community both on and off campus by assisting with the Business Advisory Advancement Council at CCSU, and by organizing various charitable drives and golf tournaments. In her words, Kelley's favorite thing about CCSU is "the people! The faculty and administration truly care about the success of the students. The students continue to impress me with their dedication and hard work; this motivates me to continue serving on the School of Business BAAC and the Alumni Association."

Fred Agee, Past President

Degrees: Geography - Urban Planning

Fred is the most recent President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors predecessor to Curtis Wiggins and is currently residing right here in New Britain, CT. He is working for the Borough of Naugatuck as a Geographic Information Systems Technician for the Engineering Department. During his time at CCSU, Fred was involved with the WFCS Radio Station, which he keeps in contact with and was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity.

Linda D. Carlson

Graduating Class: 71, 76

Degree: B.S. Elementary Education, M.S. Guidance and Counseling

Linda lives in Vernon, CT. She has held a few positions at CT middle schools, including teacher, counselor and principal. She is also a part-time exercise instructor. While a student, Linda was involved in the Drama Club, Hall Council, Homecoming Court, pledged the IKT Sorority, and was a cheerleader. She stays involved in her local community as part of the Drug and Alcohol Council, teaching CCD, helping to organize blood drives and bike-a-thons and is the director of her Scrabble Club. Linda's favorite things about CCSU are the many friends and "sistas" she made, going to and cheerleading for basketball and football games, performing in the CCSU Theatre production of The Glass Menagerie, good times at the Towne House apartments and the mentoring and assistance provided by CCSU athletic trainer and professor Carl Krein and his wife.

Perry J. Cornelio, Jr.

Perry lives right up the road in Newington, and is employed at Stanley Black & Decker. While attending CCSU, he was on the track & field team and was a member of the Marketing Club. His favorite thing about CCSU is his great experience attending the university and the friendly staff employed at CCSU.

Alexander F. Cortes

Graduating Class: 2000

Degree: B.S. Business Management and Organization

Alex lives in nearby Southington and works at the leading multinational, multimedia sports entertainment company, ESPN, as Associate Director of Internal Communications. When enrolled at CCSU, he was a Vice President and Films Committee Chair of the programming board, the president of the CCSU chapter of the Golden Key Honors Society, and served on the Student Union Board of Governors (SUBOG). Alex remains involved as a member of the CT chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), which now has a student chapter on campus. What Alex loves most about CCSU is the high volume of student activities, clubs and organizations that are available to give students a full experience as well as the opportunity to apply skills they are learning in the classroom.

Brian P. Cruess

Degree: B.S. Management Information Systems

Brian is currently residing in Hebron, CT and working for The Hartford. While a student at CCSU, he was a sports DJ for WFCS Radio, worked in Residence Life, and was involved in intramural sports. He stays involved in his local community coaching a variety of youth sports including football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. Brian's favorite things about CCSU are the small community feel, the experience of living on campus, and the balance of adjunct and full-time professors.

Amy Hewitt Cunningham

Degree: B.S. Business Administration, Marketing

Amy is honored to be a member of the Alumni Board of Directors where she has served since 2010. While a student at CCSU, Amy was a member of the varsity track and field and cheerleading teams. One of the best opportunities Amy had as a student at CCSU was the experience of working in the State Universities Board of Trustees office for four years. This experience introduced her to many business management practices within the field of higher education. Amy currently is the Acting Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, Amy is responsible for enrollment management , marketing, communications and financial aid for the school's Hartford campus. Amy and her husband, Dan, reside in Middletown, Connecticut. They are the proud parents of three children, Alan, Rose and Thomas.

Amy's favorite thing about CCSU: "The lifelong friendships I made while a student at CCSU."

Richard D. Donovan

Degree: B.S. Marketing

Rick lives with his family in Plantsville, CT and is retired from his career at UPS. While a student, Rick played for the CCSU Club Hockey team and pledged the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. He is still involved in his local community as a Scout Leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Rick's favorite thing about CCSU is the friendships he was able to build, especially through the many Greek organizations on campus, and attending campus events.

Keryn G. Walczewski Felder

Degree: B.S. Management Information Systems, M.B.A.

Keryn currently lives in nearby Kensington, but was born and raised right here in New Britain. Keryn is a Consultant for the Bureau of Date Collection, Research, and Evaluation at the Connecticut State Department of Education, where she manages a number of projects including several major data collection applications. Keryn began her career with the State Department of Education through CCSU’s Cooperative Education program. As a student at CCSU, she worked in the Office of Student Affairs, wrote for the Central Recorder, and was a Phonathon employee. Keryn was a student member of the CCSU Foundation Board of Directors, an academic scholarship recipient, earned the President’s Citation and a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of her academic achievements. She stays involved in her community by engaging with Raising Berlin, a non-profit organization for Berlin moms who give back to the community, and by co-leading a Girl Scout Daisy Troop. Keryn's favorite thing about CCSU is the numerous opportunities and activities available for students.

Oleg still lives close to CCSU in Plainville, CT and works at LJM Packaging out of North Kingstown, RI. At Central, he was a student athlete on the track and field team, and was a member of the Geography Club. Oleg's favorite thing about CCSU is the community of great people and the life-long friends he has made.

Justin J. Pagano

Degree: Math

Justin resides just a few towns over from campus in Farmington, CT. Now retired, Justin keeps involved by serving on the Farmington Town Council and local Housing Authority. He also volunteers with the Farmington Exchange Club, working on the prevention of child abuse. As a college student, he was a member of the Omega Kappa Delta fraternity. He also got his start representing his community by serving on the Student Government Association. As much as there was for Justin to enjoy on campus, ask him his favorite thing about CCSU and he'll tell you "it is where I met my wife."

David is now living in Cromwell, CT and is the CEO at the Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation. While a student, David became involved as a member of the Sigma Zeta Chi Fraternity.

Kim L. Wachtelhausen

Kim is a resident of Wolcott, CT and she puts her degree in Education to good use working for the CT State Department of Education. Kim has had a passion for education from the start. While attending CCSU she was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society. Although there is too much to list, Kim's favorite memories from CCSU are late night chats in Barrows Hall, inter-dorm competitions (specifically skits and songs) and disco dancing at "The Pub".

Velma A. Walters

Degree: Psychology

Velma is currently living in Bloomfield, CT, and works at Stone Academy. She is an active member of the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a national private, non-profit, public service organization. In her days as a student Velma was very active. She was a cheerleader, and also served on the Student Government Association, Black Student Union and African Studies Club. Velma is definitely a proud Blue Devil. Her favorite thing about CCSU? "Campus life and Blue Devils Basketball and Football."

Richard 'Dick' A. Wiszniak

Degree: B.S. Business Administration

Richard, or 'Dick' as his friends know him, is living in nearby Wethersfield, CT, but remains active in the New Britain community. He's a cooperator at the New Britain Boy's and Girl's Club, and is involved at the New Britain Lodge, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, and the Church of the Incarnation Men's Club. He also works nearby at the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. When in college, Dick was a member of the Delta Kappa Chi Fraternity, a DJ at WCCS/WFCS radio, and loved playing intramural sports. Dick's Favorite thing about CCSU would be the camaraderie of being a brother in Delta Kappa Chi Fraternity and the fun of working at the college radio station (WCCS/WFCS). He still sees and talks with many brothers of Delta and former DJs at the station. Working on the founding of the Alumni Association Sports Committee was a wonderful, exciting experience for Dick as well.
