CCSU Celebrates the International Year of Astronomy (IYA)

2009 marks the 400th anniversary of many of Galileo's  groundbreaking discoveries with a telescope, and CCSU is joining in the international celebration!

Over the next 14 months (December 2008 - Jan 2010), join us for planetarium shows, observing sessions, children's activities, public lectures, and more!

All events are free and open to the public. Community and schools groups can also book special planetarium shows and observing sessions here at CCSU (subject to staff availability), or request a lecture or workshop at your site by one of our astronomy professors (a limited number of these opportunities are available and are subject to staff availability). Our professors are also available to answer email questions from individual students or classes.

Click on the month below to see what we have scheduled. Check back often, as the site will be constantly updated as more events are finalized.

Questions and suggestions for events should be directed to Dr. Larsen at larsen@ccsu.edu. Be sure to put "CCSU IYA" in the subject line so your email won't be filtered out by our spam filter.
