Professional Bio Jason Snyder is an Assistant Professor who teaches Managerial Communications. He has been at CCSU since 2007. He earned both his Ph.D. and M.A. in Communication Sciences from the University of Connecticut, and his B.A. in Telecommunication Studies from Youngstown State University. His research interests include compassionate communication in the workplace, employee responses to communication surveillance, and employee use of communication technologies for sharing workplace information. He has presented more than 20 peer-reviewed papers at international, national, and regional conferences. He has also published his work in scholarly journals, including Communication Studies. Dr. Snyder serves as the Secretary for the Organizational Communication division of the Eastern Communication Association. He is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of Business Communication.

Research Dr. Snyder's research interests are varied. He has published research on workplace communication privacy, communication and job burnout, and knowledge sharing. He is currently working on research in these areas as well as research on advertising effects, student drinking behaviors, and student class attendance.
