Biography Dr. Snyder has been teaching managerial communications at Central Connecticut State University since 2007. He has presented organizational and business communication research at more than 20 international, national, and regional conferences. He has also published his work in scholarly journals, including Journal of Business Communication and Communication Studies. His 2009 study of communication in the human-services industry was named a finalist for the Southern Communication Journal’s prestigious Rose B. Johnson Award for most outstanding article of the year. His 2010 study of workplace email privacy was awarded the Journal of Business Communication Article of the Year.
 

 

 
Research Interests

 

Dr. Snyder's research interests are varied. He specializes in the uses of supportive and compassionate communication in the workplace to bring about positive changes for workers and their organizations. He also conducts research on workplace communication privacy. He has also been involved with marketing and advertising research that has looked at the impact of political and military advertisements on consumers. He collaborates on marketing research that explores consumers' responses to the use of different accents in advertisements. In addition to that research, Dr. Snyder is also using business communication tactics in research designed to influence student class attendance.
