International Exchange Students
(J-1 Visa)

 

Prospective J-1 Exchange Students

J-1 exchange students visit CCSU as full-time students for a period of usually one or two semesters pursuant to a formal reciprocal exchange agreement between CCSU and their home institution.

 

Admission

Once you have been accepted into the Study Abroad program at your home institution, please follow these application procedures to apply to CCSU.

Complete either the International Undergraduate Student Application (PDF Form) or the International Graduate Student Application (PDF Form)

and:

Affidavit of Support (PDF Form)

Exchange Participant Biographical Information Form (PDF Form)

Course Selection Form (PDF Form)

International Medical Packet (PDF Form)

If living in a CCSU Residence Hall, participants must also complete the:

On-Campus Housing Application (Submit directly to the Center for International Education, only if you plan to live on campus) (PDF Form)

Completed forms must be returned to the Center for International Education via one of the following means: 

International Education Coordinator
            Center for International Education
            Central Connecticut State University
            1615 Stanley Street
            New Britain, CT 06050

If admitted, an exchange student will receive an acceptance letter, Form DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for J-1 Exchange Visitor Status, and Pre-Arrival Booklet with important pre-arrival information from the CCSU Center for International Education.
