University of Pécs

Program Overview

The University of Pécs is the oldest university in Hungary, offering a wide range of studies at its ten faculties, with many courses in the exchange program taught in English.  Located in south Transdanubia, Pécs, the fifth largest city in Hungary, enjoys a mild, almost Mediterranean climate.  Dating back over 2000 years to Roman times, downtown Pécs is a unique mixture of early Christianity, the arrival of the Hungarians, the Turkish reign, and modern art and architecture.  Pécs received the prestigious title of 'The European Capital of Culture' for the year 2010. A university city, Pécs' many restaurants and cafes cater to an active student life.
