Teach English Abroad at Shandong Normal University

 

Background

Shandong Normal University (SDNU) is located in Jinan, a beautiful city in the mid-western part of Shandong Province, south of Beijing in northern China.  Jinan, acclaimed by China State Council as a famous historical and cultural city, is a major birthplace of Chinese civilization.  This beautiful city is located between Mount Tai to the South, and the Yellow River to the North.  SDNU is located in the downtown cultural district of Jinan close to services.

Application Deadline:  April 30

 

Duration of Assignment:  September to July

 

Qualifications

Native English speaker, Bachelor's Degree, and one year teaching experience, with preference given to students majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), Communication, or English.  Students in other majors are also encouraged to apply.  Applicants must make a one-year commitment.

 

Financial Arrangements

CCSU students who are selected to participate in this program will receive the following stipend and reimbursement of expenditures directly from Shandong Normal University:

 

Stipend:    2500-3600 Chinese Yuan Renmibi per month

 

Benefits:  Paid Vacation Days, Overtime Pay, Paid Sick Days,  Medical Insurance, Conditional Free
Chinese Language Courses  (not more than 6 hours a week from the second semester if 
evaluated as excellent teacher in the first semester.), Free Housing, Free Utilities (public or 
private kitchen), Refrigerator, Free Internet Access, Television, Telephone,  Bookcase, Air 
Conditioning, Porter service, Swimming pool, Elevator,  In-hotel Restaurants and Coffee bar, 
24-hours hot water

 

Round-trip airfare:               provided by SNDU

Excess baggage fees:           limited subsidy provided by SDNU
