Conference Goals
The conference is designed to provide
participants with opportunities to:
· Make connections important to raising
awareness about global concerns and
inter-national issues;
· Provide opportunities for CSU colleagues to
compare curricular strategies among CSU campuses
and with the
international partners we have in
common;
· Learn about promising instructional
strategies that help CSU students gain the
knowledge and skills required for
participation
and leadership in a greening economy.
Conference
Strands
1. Global warming and climate change;
2. Reducing the environmental impact of
international travel through the use of
renewable energy, carbon
neutrality, and
carbon-reduction offsets;
3. The Green Economy and preparing CSU
students for ‘Green Collar’ jobs;
4. International trends in Sustainability
Education;
5. Opportunities to become more international
through Grants and Faculty Development; and
6. Opportunities and challenges in
international education
All CSUS
members are encouraged to attend this day-long
conference to meet with their peers to learn
about and discuss:
1. making connections important to raising
awareness about global and international issues
on our campuses;
2. comparing the American educational system
with global educational systems; and
3. learning about the promising instructional
strategies that help CSUS students gain the
knowledge and skills
required for leadership positions in the global
economy.
