FACULTY HANDBOOK

Preface

This handbook was prepared by the staff of the Vice President for Academic Affairs pursuant to section 5.12 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU AAUP and the Board of Trustees of Connecticut State University, August 20, 1993-August 23, 1996; and section 9.4 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty and the Board of Trustees of Connecticut State University, July 1, 1994-June 30, 1997.

This manual's purpose is to provide useful information to the faculty of Central Connecticut State University. We have not attempted to make this a compendium of "everything you always wanted to know about CCSU." Rather, it is a place where information not readily available from other sources may be found. There are, of course, many other publications and documents that contain a wealth of information about the University, especially the undergraduate and graduate catalogs, and the above-mentioned collective bargaining agreements.

A statement of the vision of the University and plans for the future, is contained in the CCSU Strategic Plan, available on the CCSU homepage. More detailed information is available from the Office of Planning and Institutional Research (832-1780) and program-specific information may be obtained from the various offices on campus. If you have information needs and do not know where to begin, call the Office of Planning and Institutional Research for help.

We hope that this Handbook will be helpful and look forward to making it more useful in successive editions. If you have comments or suggestions toward that end, please send them to the Office of Planning and Institutional Research (832-1780, e-mail to FLAHERTY).
