Application Requirements: Advanced Official Certificate Program
Reading and Language Arts


A Master's or Sixth-Year Degree in Reading and Language Arts with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale.

Letters of Recommendation: Recommendations from an immediate supervisor or administrator, and an educator attesting to the student's potential as a reading educator and to the student's academic qualifications must be submitted on the Advanced Official Certificate Program recommendation forms provided. Attach cover sheet provided.

  Department Interview: Applicants participate in an interview where the student's qualifications, interests, and motivation pertaining to becoming a reading consultant toward becoming a reading consultant are examined. Interview sessions are scheduled individually. Contact the Reading and Language Arts Department for further information or an appointment.
