Mission Statement

The Curriculum Lab connects education students, faculty in the School of Education & Professional Studies, and practicing teachers with educational resources. This is an area where education majors and teachers-in-service can learn about existing curriculum programs and materials, keep current with new ideas in education, find help in designing programs to meet specific instructional problems, and become familiar with a wide range of children's literature.

Over 40,000 print and non-print materials are available, including the Kraus Curriculum Development Library, which offers selected curriculum guides from throughout the United States.  Most of the materials are arranged by the Dewey Decimal System, but the textbooks (C1-C13) are arranged by subject, publisher, author and grade level.  Curriculum Lab materials are catalogued and available through the CSU online catalog, CONSULS Library Catalog.

We view the Curriculum Lab as a laboratory where students and faculty meet to develop curriculum.  It is not designated as a quiet area, rather it is an active area where students can work together.  Equipment is available to preview media and software.

The Curriculum Laboratory is located on the 3rd floor of Burritt Library.
