Town and Gown Taskforce

The Presidential Advisory Council worked to established and sponsor a Town and Gown Taskforce involving the town of New Britain & Belvedere Neighbors to work together with CCSU to help address problem off campus parties

Town Gown Task force purpose and goals:
The Town and Gown Task Force was originally established; stating that it was an off shoot of the open community forum, held in November.   During the open forum, Belvedere Neighborhood residents shared several concerns related to off-campus party activity, including:  a high level of noise, destruction of property, disturbing the peace,  extensive parking problems/cars on the street, an influx of trash/litter, and the overall impact on quality of life and property values.

The purpose and intent of assembling the Town and Gown Task Force, will help the community:
1)  To identify salient issues and prepare for an eventual open (public) Town and Gown forum
2) To clearly identify the problems (from a variety of perspectives)
3) To learn relevant information/data pertaining to and affecting the problem
4) To Identify potential solutions and initiatives
5) To identify potential obstacles, and
6) To locate valuable resources in the community/state.
