Co-ops

Whelen Engineering

I am now accepting resumes for the Whelen Engineering co-op for the Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 academic year. This is a great opportunity to get some excellent experience in the field. Whelen has a very impressive facility in Chester, CT. Also, in addition to receiving a competitive hourly wage, upon the successful completion of the co-op, you would receive a scholarship for a full year of tuition! See attached for more information.

Note that this co-op starts around the end of August or beginning of September so you can still complete a summer internship before starting this opportunity!

To apply for this co-op you must send your resume to me at d.hunter@ccsu.edu by Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

Note Qualifications:

Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology and Industrial Technology (Manufacturing) students who:

  • have completed their Junior year (or are Grad Students),
  • have a 3.0 GPA or better,
  • possess applied learning or knowledge in the area of conceptual design, systems engineering, manufacturing, product research and development, or similar experience.

Please remember that for this co-op, you will take the fall and spring semesters off from school and work full-time at Whelen. However, you will be able to maintain your full-time student benefits and possibly take a class or two in the evenings (as long as it does not interfere with your full-time work schedule). If hired for this co-op, you will need to see Joe Zeoli in the CACE office to be properly set-up with the registrar’s office.
