Jessica Schweitzer graduated from Central Connecticut State University in May, 2009 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. While at CCSU, under the advisement of her entrepreneurship professor Drew Harris, Jessica came up with the idea for her current company, Campus Connect. The idea for the company arose from trying to solve the everyday problems she and many other students faced around saving money while in school. Campus Connect serves students by reducing the high cost associated with attending college.
Believing in the value of the business concept, she presented her idea at the CCSU elevator pitch contest. After winning the contest, she entered the 2009 Connecticut Collegiate Business Plan Competition and was awarded the 2nd place Technology Award from Connecticut Innovations (CI). In addition to the Award she also received Pre-seed Support Services from CI and under the direction of Charlie Moret, its Managing Director, started Campus Connect. The company was launched in October 2009 utilizing the resources of CTech, a technology business incubator located at Science Park@Yale. Since its introduction, the company has provided students with a wide range of services from buying and selling textbooks, to campus classifieds, and savings from local small businesses around campus. As Founder and President, Jessica continues to strive to use her entrepreneurial talents to keep students connected to their precious dollars and the campus community.
