In 1998, Brian became a partner at Kostin, Ruffkess & Company, which combined with J.H. Cohn in 2011. Previously, he had worked with a Big Four firm for 12 years.
Brian graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), where he is a past Trustee of its Educational Trust Fund.
Actively involved in the Greater Hartford community, Brian is immediate past president and chairman of the board of the Andrew J. & Joyce D. Mandell Jewish Community Center, a past member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Hartford Jewish Federation, and a member of the Tax and Legal Panel of the Jewish Community Foundation. Brian presently serves as president, member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance Committee of Tumble Brook Country Club. He is past president and life member of the Board of Trustees of the Emanuel Synagogue, past director of the Connecticut Triathlon Series, past race director of the Capital City Triathlon, and past race director of the Milford Triathlon.
