Important Notes 2019

  • Registration: It is strongly recommended that you register at least one month before each course you are taking.
    • Mail-in registration will begin March 5
    • Online registration will begin March 28
    • This summer, participants who register before May 15th will be eligible for a weekly drawing to win a Jawbone External Speaker! There will be a drawing at noon every Friday. Register early for your chance to win!
    • All classes meet Monday through Friday. All one-week classes meet one evening as specified. Classes will meet on July 4th!
    • All class sizes are limited, so register early!
    • Cancellation decisions for professors will be made two weeks before the class begins. The University reserves the right to cancel any course due to low enrollment.
  • Housing: Rooms in air-conditioned dormitory halls are available to all participants on a weekly basis. Please see the SMI website for pricing, description of facility and all relevant information.
    • SMI participants must register for housing separately from course registration through Residence Life.

  • Credits: Topics courses may be repeated for credit with different content for a maximum of 6 credits.
    • The maximum number of credits that may be earned toward a degree at CCSU during one five-week term is eight.
    • There is no limit on the number of credits one may take if you are not in the M.S. in Music Education degree program.
  • Textbooks: Some courses may require the purchase of texts or other materials. Requirements will be announced on the website OR on the first day of classes.
  • Location: All classes will meet in Welte Hall. Specific room numbers are posted with the course descriptions on the SMI website []. They will also be posted at the entrance of Welte Hall and outside the SMI office (Welte, Room 209).
  • Parking: Please park in student parking lots, especially the student lot behind the Student Center, including the parking garage. Those staying in the dorm may park in the dorm lots.
